Careers Week

Monday 16 April - Friday 20 April, 2012

Careers week is your opportunity to improve your resume and interview skills, explore your career possibilities and quiz your future employer.

The Careers expo held during Careers week gives you an opportunity to speak to many exhibitors, including representatives from Monash University Employment and Career Development. 

The 2012 program will include:

Tuesday 17 April
5pm - 7.30pm Primary Cafe Bachelor of Pharmaceutical Sciences Networking night: This is an annual industry event designed to bring students in direct contact with key industry figures. It is a chance to meet and greet prospective employers in an informal setting. In order to attend, students must RSVP to this event and wear appropriate, presentable clothing. This session is not a forum for students to distribute their Curriculum Vitae.
Wednesday 18 April
12pm - 1pm LT2 Finding work: This session covers topics such as how to source job opportunities using a variety of job search methods and ways to plan for positive employment outcomes. Please register your attendance.
1pm - 2pm LT2

Writing applications and resumes: Improve your chances of being invited to interview by producing a tailored resume, cover letter and other application documents that demonstrate how to match your key selection criteria. Please register your attendance.
2pm - 3pm LT5

Interview techniques: Learn how to respond to common interview questions with confidence in this interactive session.  Please register your attendance.
Thursday 19 April
9am - 2pm Cossar Hall Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences Careers Expo: This expo gives students a chance to find out more about their potential employers within the Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences industry. There will be various organisations set up in an expo style format. There are also stalls where students can find out more about postgraduate studies, international exchange, research and rural pharmacy opportunities. 
11am-1pm Courtyard VPSA BBQ: Come and join the Victorian Pharmacy Student's Association for some free lunch.
2pm -3pm

Society of Hospital Pharmacy information evening. Information is given about hospital intern training positions.

Employment and Careers Development are now available at Parkville on the first and third Wednesday of each month.
