Social sport reaching new heights at the Parkville campus

The response from students to the new 3 on 3 basketball has been significantly more than originally hoped for, with students lining up to play in the competition. Over 30 participants have entered the competition which is held on the new multipurpose court. A state basketball player has been recruited through this competition by Nicole Schmidt (Sports Programs Project Officer) to try out for the Australian University Games in September.

Social sport is a great way to keep fit and have fun and is a great way to break up your day while at university. Many teams go on to compete at the Monash Games. The Monash Games present an opportunity for staff and students across all Victorian campuses of the university to play and compete in their chosen sport in a fun and friendly environment. This year the competition is being held over 16 and 17 July.

Visit  sporting competitions at Monash  for full details.
