Scholarship criteria and application form 2009

To apply you must:

  • be a third or fourth year Faculty of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences students enrolled in the Bachelor of Pharmacy or the Bachelor of Pharmacy/Commerce
  • have achieved a minimum of 60% average in their last semester of study at the time of application
  • be an Australian citizen or permanent resident of Australia.

Selection:

Selection based not only on academic merit, but also (and more importantly) on personal attributes and the community participation of applicants.

Applicants must demonstrate:

  • commitment and motivation through participation in their community, school or local organisations
  • an understanding of international health issues and a motivation to make a contribution in the area of international health is also important.
  • leadership qualities and an ability to act independently

Previous international experience is not essential.

The scholarship is to be used for participation in an international health development program in a developing country. The recipient will be mentored before departure and in the field with a pharmacist and will make a contribution to the program.  Recipients can suggest a program, or can participate in a program determined by the faculty anywhere in the developing world but are encouraged to consider projects in the Asia/Pacific region.
