Approval must be obtained from the Student Activities Officer  where clubs require external catering.

Providing your own catering

If a club wishes to cater for their event they must  make sure your food is cooked, stored and handled in a safe and hygienic manner. Student clubs must be aware of the potential health risks involved in serving food. Should an illness be attributed to the food served at the event, the organisation or club may be subject to legal action.

There are no food storage or refrigeration facilities on campus.

BBQ facilities

Two gas operated BBQs are available in the Courtyard. In order to book this BBQ you will need to book the Courtyard and the BBQ. To unlock the BBQ's at the start of your event and lock them again on completion please see security. Security will only unlock the BBQ's if you have booked the courtyard.

It is essential that venues, including the BBQ's are cleaned at the end of each event, clubs failing to do so will be billed any incurred cleaning costs. BBQ utensils should be washed up in the kitchen sink behind the snake tank.

Personal protective clothing, in particular long sleeved shirts, should be worn when cooking BBQ's. Hot fat can spit and burn. If you notice fat pooling in the BBQ's contact security immediately to have the drains in the centre of the hotplate cleaned out.
