Sessional staff resources

Sessional teaching staff make a significant contribution to the quality of teaching, learning and the student experience at the faculty. With over 100 sessional staff, working across undergraduate and postgraduate courses the faculty is committed to ensuring that appropriate resources, includng professional development, are provided.

Sessional staff are instructors, not in full time or permanent positions including:

  • part-time tutors or demonstrators,
  • postgraduate students,
  • research fellows involved in part-time teaching,
  • external people from industry or professions,
  • clinical tutors,
  • or any other teachers regularly employed on a course-by-course basis.

Professional development

The faculty conducts annual training sessions for sessional staff. Post graduate students are required to attend one session per year. External people from industry or community are invited and encouraged to attend, however they are not required to attend.

Sessional staff are also invited to attend the Education Professional Development series 2009.

There are many issues a student may face. The faculty and university provide resources to assist students, and sessional staff.  Do not hesistate to contact:
