Wound Care - Entry requirementsAcademic and clinical requirements Applicants should have an undergraduate degree in an appropriate health discipline and at least two years relevant clinical experience. Registered Nurses (Division 1) who do not have a degree but can demonstrate extensive relevant experience will be considered for admission. English requirements All applicants must meet the University's minimum English language requirements, these can be found on the Monash website. CreditApplicants may apply for credit for previous studies undertaken in the past five years at an Australian University or TAFE, or recognition of prior learning. The maximum proportion of credit that can be awarded is 50% of the requirements for the award. No more than 25% of the requirements for the award will normally be granted for credit based on the recognition of prior learning. All applications for credit will be considered on an individual basis by the faculty. Examples of credit that may be granted include: Specified credit or exemption from individual units Credit granted in the form of specific subject(s) from which a student is exempt. Unspecified credit or exemption from elective units Credit which is not matched to a particular subject in the student’s new course. It is often given in the form of credit points or exemption from a course’s elective requirements. Block credit Credit granted in the form of whole stages or semesters of a course. The student is able to enter the course at an advanced level based on previous study. Recognition of prior learning (RPL) RPL can either be credentialled or uncredentialled. Credentialled learning is relevant skills, knowledge or competencies that have been acquired from a provider other than an Australian university or TAFE faculty. For example, education or training provided through employer-based programs, professional bodies and private providers. Uncredentialled learning is learning that is acquired through work and experience. If applying for RPL you should attach your Learning Portfolio (see guidelines for preparing a portfolio ). Closing dates Credit applications are typically applied for prior to commencing the course. Where a current semester’s enrolment is likely to be affected by the outcome of an application: eg a change in enrolled units, you must submit your application prior to the first day of the semester. Further information is available on the Credit application form or from the Postgraduate Coursework Coordinator.
