ConvaTec Student Education Grant
ConvaTec has provided ostomy and wound care products and services to Australia for the last 25 years. Not only are ConvaTec dedicated in their commitment to patients and their caregivers but also to supporting healthcare professionals. The ConvaTec Student Education Grant has been established to provide financial support to a postgraduate masters student in Wound Care to reimburse the full course fee for Master level course (24 credit points). Eligibility: The award will be open to all postgraduate students in wound care who have completed their graduate diploma with a Distinction average or higher. Applicants must be Australian or New Zealand citizens or permanent residents of Australia. Previous Awardees of the award are not entitled to re-apply. ConvaTec employees are not eligible to apply. Selection criteria: Selection will be based on the following:
Selection process: Applicants must complete the Application Form and submit it with their one page submission and a current CV by November 9, 2009. The selection committee will consist of at least one member from the Postgraduate Studies Professional Development Unit (Faculty of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences), one member from the Wound Education Course Advisory and Stakeholder group and one non-faculty individual with extensive wound care experience. ConvaTec will have the right to participate on the Selection Committee but not to vote for the Awardee. The Grant will be made at the sole discretion of the Selection Committee. Where there are no entrants or, if in the opinion of the Selection Committee, no submission meets the standards required then the Grant may be withheld. In this case the funding for the relevant year will lapse. The Educational Grant: The grant will be made available to the Awardee upon successful completion of their Masters of Wound Care at Monash University. Value: The Educational Grant will be up to the value of the full course fee only for Master level only (24 credit points). Reporting requirements: Upon completing the Masters degree, the awardee will send their official academic transcript to ConvaTec for re-imbursement of all course fees for the Masters year. During the 12 months post completion, the Awardee may be invited by ConvaTec to additional speaking engagements and meetings at the cost of ConvaTec. Other requirements: Any publication which arises from the Masters will acknowledge the individual to have been the Awardee of the ConvaTec Educational Grant. ConvaTec may provide administrative support for publications but will not have any editorial control. During the year of the grant, the Awardee will make themselves available to meet with and attend ConvaTec functions or sites. Number per year: A maximum of one Educational Grant will be awarded per year. Deferment: Awardees will be allowed to defer their Educational Grant due to unforeseen health or personal reasons by a maximum of one year after agreement between ConvaTec and the Awardee.
