Who teaches the course? The Department of Pharmacy Practice (Monash University) administers the course, with input from an Advisory Group consisting of representatives from the Pharmacy Board, the Society of Hospital Pharmacists of Australia, the Pharmacy Guild of Australia, as well as a rural representative (Chair), an academic staff member in the Department of Pharmacy Practice, the Course Director, the Postgraduate Studies and Professional Development Unit, preceptors and at least one current pharmacy intern. The course is co-ordinated by three experienced pharmacists: Ms Laura Dean (Course Director), Ms Angela Calandra and Ms Liz Morabito. Most of the teaching in the Pharmacy Internship program (at seminars and online) is delivered by experienced practising pharmacists – there are currently more than 50 practising pharmacists from community, hospital, industry and government settings involved in the program. Elective units in the Graduate Certificate are taught by the Department of Pharmacy Practice or by other faculties within Monash University . For example, the faculty of Business and Economics runs the Pharmaceutical Economics unit. |
