Entry requirements

The entry requirements for the Monash University Pharmacy Internship program and Graduate Certificate in Pharmacy Practice are:

  • Pharmacy degree from an Australian or New Zealand school of pharmacy OR successful completion of  APEC  requirements.

AND

  • Planning to commence internship practical training at a Pharmacy Board of Victoria approved pharmacy or hospital, under supervision of an approved pharmacist preceptor, within 90 days of commencing the course.

Minimum English language requirements

All Monash applicants must satisfy the minimum English language requirements of the university.

Locating an internship training position

It is your responsibility to locate a pharmacy or hospital pharmacy department for practical training. Positions in community pharmacy are advertised on the Pharmaceutical Society of Australia's Internship registration Positions Database.  Training positions in community pharmacies and private hospitals are sometimes advertised on noticeboards outside the Pharmacy Board of Victoria office and student noticeboards at the Faculty of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences and La Trobe University Bendigo. Training positions in Victorian public hospitals are coordinated by the Society of Hospital Pharmacists of Australia (Victorian Branch).
