Pharmacy Management Program - Professional track unitsRisk Management for Health Professionals (VCD1103)Rationale:Managing risk has become an integral part of good business practice today, particularly in the healthcare industry where the imbalance between consumer demands and health care funding has put enormous strains on the system and its work force. This unit offers a general knowledge of risk principles, an understanding of tools and approaches with reference to the relevant Australian standards and healthcare guidelines in managing risks, and illustrated by selected case studies in hospital, aged care and professional practice environments”. Health professionals undertaking this unit will be able to develop their skills in identifying risks and minimising potential harms to themselves, their clients, employees and organisations.
