The Faculty of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences encourages students from rural and remote areas of Australia to apply for the pharmacy rural entry scheme. The scheme is available to students applying for the Bachelor of Pharmacy or Bachelor of Pharmacy/Commerce.

Entry to the Bachelor of Pharmacy and Bachelor of Pharmacy/Commerce is based on a combination of results in prerequisite studies, UMAT and ENTER. Eligible rural students will be favourably re-ranked during the selection process. Students are not required to return to a rural area after graduation.

How to apply

You need to apply for the Bachelor of Pharmacy or Bachelor Pharmacy/Commerce through VTAC, as well as submit a SEAS (Special Entry Access Scheme) application via VTAC, indicating that you are applying for Category 6: Applicants from rural or isolated areas.

What is rural?

'Rural’, for the purposes of the Pharmacy Rural Entry Scheme, is determined by an applicant residing and completing their VCE studies (years 11 and 12) in an area of Australia that is specified on the Commonwealth Government rural and isolated postcode list  [PDF 34K].

Monash University reserves the right to determine if an applicant is from a rural or isolated area.
