Bachelor of Pharmacy

Pharmacists are medicine experts. They are actively involved in patient care, either in hospitals or in the community and work to ensure that patient treatment therapies are optimised.

As health professionals pharmacists are part of a healthcare team. They inform and educate patients so that medication is used in a safe and effective way.

If you are interested in science and healthcare and you enjoy communicating with people then the Bachelor of Pharmacy could be for you.

Bachelor of Pharmacy/Commerce

The Bachelor of Pharmacy/Commerce course gives you an opportunity to add valuable business skills to your degree equiping you for a broader range of health-related occupations. This double degree has a broad scope that many employers find attractive.

The Bachelor of Pharmacy and Bachelor of Pharmacy/Commerce are accredited by the Australian Pharmacy Council

Registration

After graduating from the Bachelor of Pharmacy and to become a practising pharmacist, you are required to undertake a year of supervised training, followed by a registration examination. This is a requirement of the Pharmacy Board of Victoria. During your supervised training year, you will also need to complete an approved internship course. Monash University offers an approved internship course that can lead to a postgraduate qualification, the Graduate Certificate Pharmacy Practice (Internship).
