Leadership
Associate Professor Susan A. Charman is co-founder and Director of the Centre. With an international reputation in the field of lead optimisation and pre-clinical drug development, Associate Professor Charman has more than 20 years of experience managing large collaborative research programs in drug discovery / pharmaceutical companies worldwide. She has published prolifically and is regularly invited to speak at major national and international conferences.
The Centre integrates the essential disciplines of physical and pre-formulation chemistry, pharmacokinetics, drug metabolism, functional biology and bioanalysis to provide the necessary platforms for rapid identification of developmental properties. Each discipline is led by an experienced group leader and staffed by highly qualified research scientists. Additional support is provided by senior Faculty of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences academic staff.
