Rachmawati Saputra

In 2003, Rachmawati Saputra became the first formulation science student to win the Gold Medal. A Bachelor of Formulation Science (Honours) student, she was also one of only 15 students to receive the Monash University Vice-Chancellor’s Undergraduate Research Scholarship that year. The scholarships are awarded university-wide to students of exceptional calibre who have demonstrated a high level of research potential.

Rachma has an excellent undergraduate record, with 10 high distinctions, three distinctions and one credit over the three years of her course, as well as commendations from industry during her industry experience placements. Her research project during her honours year focused on the oral delivery of proteins and peptides.

Her third year placement with Dulux Orica Australia continued after graduation. She worked as a chemist for their Decorative Development Group, Research and Development Department for a year. She now works for BASF – the Chemical Company, Australia as an Applications Chemist.
