During her undergraduate degree, Corrine undertook two summer school research scholarships with the college. Corrine is completing her honours year at Monash University and has recently been recognised with a Vice-Chancellor’s Undergraduate Research Scholarship. Her research project is entitled ‘Novel PNA transporter conjugates for the treatment of motor neurone disease'. The project is looking at synthesising and attaching sugar transporter units to peptide nucleic acids (PNAs) to aid in their transport in order to treat motor neurone disease. "In 2007, I hope to start a PhD and continue my current work on transporters for PNAs to treat these diseases," said Corrine.
