The Pharmacy Guild of Australia was established in 1928 and is registered under the federal Workplace Relations Act 1996 as an employers' organisation .  Its members are owners of some 4,500 pharmacies throughout Australia.  The Guild is committed to protecting and strengthening the pharmacy profession through ongoing representation, strong leadership and by providing superior assistance and support.
